Small Claims Limit

This site aims to be accurate, but it's run by people, not a courthouse, and mistakes or outdated figures can slip through — especially when a court rule, fee, or dollar limit changes. This page is specifically about what to do when that happens.

How to report something

Use the Contact form with:

  • The URL of the page in question.
  • What you believe is wrong, outdated, or unclear.
  • A link to an official source, if you have one — this is the single most helpful thing you can include, and generally speeds up a correction significantly.

What happens after you report it

We review every correction report we receive against the relevant official source (see our Legal Review Policy for what counts as authoritative). If the report is accurate, we update the page and its "reviewed for accuracy as of" date. If we disagree with the report, or can't confirm it against an official source, we may leave the page as-is — but we still read and consider every report.

Important note

We don't promise a specific turnaround time for corrections. A clear factual error with an obvious official source is generally quick to fix; a more nuanced wording concern may take longer, or may not result in a change at all.

What makes a report easy to act on

Reports that name a specific figure, page, and official source are the easiest for us to verify and act on quickly. General feedback like "this seems out of date" is welcome too, but may take longer to investigate since we have to determine what specifically changed.

What we won't do

This process is for factual corrections — a wrong number, an outdated procedure, a broken link. It's not a channel for legal advice about your own case; if that's what you need, see the "Talk to a Small Claims Court Lawyer" consultation form found on most pages, or our do I need a lawyer or paralegal? guide.

Frequently asked questions

How do I report an error on this site?

Use the Contact form with the page URL and what you believe is wrong. Include a link to an official source if you have one.

How long does a correction take?

It depends on the report — a clear factual error with an official source is generally quicker to fix than a nuanced disagreement about wording. We don't promise a fixed turnaround, but we do review every report we receive.

Will I be told when a correction is made?

We generally don't send individual confirmations, but the page's "reviewed for accuracy as of" date will change once it's updated.
